Psuedo Kilt.

Turtleneck - Express, Shirt - Urban Outfitters, Sweater - Thrift Town, Boots - Ross, Gloves - Urban Outfitters

I feel like I could be in Hey Arnold! while wearing this outfit. Like, I could be his sister or cousin or something. You know how he wears that flannel that's like a kilt? This is a sweater that I bundled around myself and made into a dress/skirt thing. But with all the layers I definitely am channeling Arnold. I also felt like Tia from Uncle Buck (all 90s rich girl mod) which is why I chose to take these photos in the Fabulous 40s.

Sacramento has this area right outside of Midtown, called the Fabulous 40s because houses on the streets 40-45 or something, are HUGE gorgeous houses, like the beautiful pink one behind me. The streets have giant trees that drape over, and when the sun shines through in the early evening, it is the prettiest sight.

Gonna try to update my blog more. Especially with winter coming up, I need to show off all da layers.

Bone Shoe Is Ready.

Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce to you: Bone Shoe.

I'm currently in my second term of fashion design and merchandising at IADT Sacramento, and my first project in Fashion Sketching was to design a fantasy shoe. The first thing that came to my mind was bones. I had originally intended to make the shoe a solid platform heel with a Jeffrey Campbell Saturn shoe-esque back (as you can see in the bottom left sketch of the last photo), but after pulling up some photos for inspiration (such as the UNIF Hellbound and Gene Simmons' platforms) I found the perfect shape in something we all have: The pelvic bone.

If you turn that image 90 degrees left, you'll see the basic shape of my shoe. From there, I incorporated a matte black insert to cover the top of the foot, along with a matching matte black heel and bottom of the shoe. I also added a miniature rib cage that wraps around the heel of the shoe.

I would absolutely love for this to be real, so keep an eye out for the day that it is.

Bone Shoe is ready!

Not Cryin' On Sundays.

I tried to take a little more of an artistic route with these photos. I knew I wanted to capture the soft light that drifts into my room early each morning, and mid-afternoon. I also knew I wanted to portray an outside point of view, looking in on myself. These are the results.

Dress: Hand-me-down from Carmen, Jacket: Thrifted, Shoes: Santee Alley, Shoe laces: Dollar Tree.

Tomorrow is my birthday and I'm about to be twenty years old. I've been thinking a lot about my accomplishments as a teenager and young adult, and I have to say I'm pretty proud of myself. Within the last year alone, I've made incredible changes to my life, that have only benefited my well-being. I learned to leave relationships that were mentally and physically damaging, I moved out of Fresno and out on my own, I became a manager at a Goodwill Boutique store, I started my own online clothing store, I went back to school to get my AA in Fashion Design and Merchandising, and best of all, I've had more self-confidence than I've ever had in my entire life. If this last year alone was so great, I can't wait to see how my future turns out.

Alright, enough of that. This was my outfit today. It's finally started to cool down in California, and when I leave for school in the morning I'm able to wear a jacket and live comfortably. So it's pretty awesome. I've also been wearing heels as often as I can, because I can. And that's all I have to say about that.

Anyway, have a great day everyone. Next time you hear from me, I'll be twenty. BAI.

So it's like 12:30am, and I should be getting to sleep soon, but I thought I'd try and update this thing real fast. I basically have no real camera, besides my phone, so.. yeah. I have a real camera, it just needs to be fixed. A lot. Instagram photos will have to do for now.

Here are multiple photos that represent my life pretty well:

Obey shirt, hand-me-down floral maxi skirt.

Forever 21 top, thrifted shorts, Urban Outfitters socks, MIA platform sandals.

My lifeline?

Can we just take a moment to admire how freaking rad Pacsun got? THESE LEGGINGS. Yes, these are real, and they are beautiful. Good job Pacsun, good job.

Things that are on my refrigerator: Scrabble magnets, cat magnets, and a photo of myself at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, in the warm California sun.

Walking attire. These are Carmen's clothes, so ask her where she got them. I know the sweater is from Forever 21, and the shirt says "Will You Marry Me?" in French.

I got these at my store, and they are rad. This really awesome jewelry box that was originally from Homegoods (coincidentally, I used to work there), and this radical bracelet that reminds me of an octopus.

Thrifted crochet sweater, Carmen's printed zip up sweater, BDG basic v-neck, Levi's thrifted/DIY shorts, thrifted belt.

The jewelry I wear on a daily basis + my creepers! I finally got some, thanks to Amazon. Glamazon. Yes. (I can turn anything into a RuPaul reference) Anyway:
Bracelet - Goodwill, Watch - Urban Outfitters, Ankh ear cuff (RIGHT?!) - Etsy, Teardrop mood ring - thrifted, Gold snake ring - Hand-me-down from Mom, Skull ring - Venice Beach, Rectangle braided ring - Ethiopia (Yes, in Africa).

Once again, a Pacsun treasure. This dress is from Pacsun and it was on sale and is beautiful and perfect, so what do you know? The sweater is Carmen's and I believe it is from Urban Outfitters.

Dis mah face.

I like to think that I'm a pretty good cook, and this is the amount of sweet potato fries I make, when I do make them. Believe it or not, this is only one and a half sweet potatoes.

This is the rest of the dinner I cooked with the sweet potato fries. Hamboigas with onion, provolone cheese and avocado, YUM.

I got these at Goodwill too! They were considered Halloween shoes, but I am like "Hello? Those are cute and perfect all the time." So I got them. My store actually has a lot of Halloween gems that I want to wear as regular clothes. And that I probably would wear as regular clothes. Because Saint John's Bay and Talbot's just don't cut it, you know?

This is Taz, he is the best dog in the entire world. He took me to goth prom and we took super kawaii pix together.

This is my kitty cat, Girlfriend. I love her.

This is some more dinner I made.

Sweater - Forever 21 I think? The rest is from Urban or thrifted. My hair is getting pretty long and rad as well.

Also my lifeline? I love this game.

A beautiful pup I met outside of Safeway with my neighbor.

MINI PUMPKINS. These are my favorite things and they make me so nostalgic. I just remember being five years old again. Fall is here!

Last but definitely not least, this is a fort we built in our living room. It was probably the coolest, best thing we've ever done. Ever.

That's my life lately. I'll try to get a real camera and document my outfits better, but for now I guess this works. I'll leave you with a cool jam about thrift store shopping. Goodnight!

Laundromat Hangs.

Robe - Goodwill, UNIF tank - Carmen via Urban Outfitters, Jeans - Urban Outfitters, Boots - Nine West via Goodwill

Behold: My janky self after a long day of orientation at IADT Sacramento aka my new school, a trip to Ikea, Goodwill, Trader Joe's, and the laundromat.

Janky. Jankified. Jankalicious. Call Me Janky.

Let me just say, I am SO excited to start school. My only class so far is a general education class, but after ten weeks, I start learning the fun stuff; hands-on fashion merchandising and designing. You know what's even cooler? I get to design my own fabric. Can you say pizza print all day everyday? I'm seriously going to design an entire line based around pizza and turn it in for a grade.

Anyway, this outfit makes me feel pretty rad. I didn't realize how much I liked it until I looked at these photos. This robe? Best thing ever. Perfect condition, with the most beautiful color combination. Mmm, mmm. Yes please.
And these boots! Pretty sure my friend/ex-coworker Ashley of Five Hundred Daze owns these- er, owned? They might be for sale on her Etsy site. Which you should check out HERE.

Also, check out my other friend/ex-coworker's Etsy, Bratty Girl Vintage. Ya'll remember Alex from other posts I did, right? Gutter Kids partner? Yep.

So proud of my friends :')

(UPDATE: It looks as though Ashley's Etsy is empty right now, but stay tuned because I know she posts some good stuff in there. In the mean time, just read her blog!)
